1 Research Assistant of the Fund of Scientific Research – Flanders (FWO-Vlaanderen) 2 ESAT-Telemic participates in the OPNET University Program for research [7, 8, 9] and educational projects [10, 11, 12]. Abstract OPNET contains a vast amount of node models that represent specific types of networking gear available in the marketplace. These models closely resemble their real-life counterparts in supported functionality, but in order for OPNET to generate representative simulation results they also have to accurately simulate the performance of the real devices.
